Who do you think is the biggest most valuable brand on earth today? To me it is actually Coca-Cola, the value of the drink is not just in the name or content, the value is the trust. When was the last time you had to look into the bottle of Coke before you drink? You do trust Coca-Cola because they have done an excellent job in protecting their brand. Branding to me, is something we must think and talk about every day. Having a solid and trustworthy brand is important for every young entrepreneur.

It starts from the name, designing a killer logo, your website and the general perception of people about you and your work when you are not there. This issue of branding reminds me of a female friend I had in school, she was into baking of cakes that are very nice and so rich and she loves baking a whole lot but at the beginning of her business, despite the fact that she bakes the cake richly, she wasn’t so good in cake decoration and her customers will always complain but after eating the cake they’d always appreciate her work. This issue is similar to branding, many can appreciate you for seeing the decoration on the cake even without eating the cake.

All we need is to package what we do and make it good both internally and externally and let people know you for excellence and am sure you will earn more income than you are presently just like my friend who now gives great designs and nice cake to eat. There were two points listed by Dr. Victor King on how to build a brand;

  • Be Unique; when creating a powerful brand, the first step is to create something that people could actually want to talk about and share with their friends. Every brand must be unique; people are willing to pay millions for unique commercials with unique spokespersons. Uniqueness is simply one of the most lucrative and rare commodities in the world. This is an area that young people can take advantage of because the population is in their favor, so they can determine what’s unique from music to clothes and websites. That’s part of the reason young people around the world are successful in business; they see what’s unique before the grownups do. The smart ones capitalize on it to build unique brands and great empires.
  • Focus on Consistent Quality; Uniqueness is fragile, the slightest false move can lead to you being wiped off from the peoples mind. Protect your brand from losing its quality and you can only achieve this by focusing on consistent quality. If you are into goods and services then your brand is only as good as your worst product. Be consistent, stay cool, and people will begin to value and share it with their friends. Your dedication to consistent quality should carry through on everything you do and how you do it. In all you do always think about how your action reflects on your brand and great income will surely come to you for building a great brand.

Finally building a brand is very important but it is not enough for people to talk and share your brand. One way to start profiting on the strength of your brand is by selling products and services to people. Learn to sell friend in order to earn more income from your brand.
